The badge was installed on cars that had more than 380hp when new or went back to GMMG for engine upgrades

To be 100% correct Phase II & above have the badges

What about the thin GMMG Badges?

There were included when a GMMG exhaust was purchased. Some have installed them on their non GMMG cars.

I was able to purchase a metal die cast GMMG badge for my car when I met him for the first time at the F-Body bash at Indy in Sept. of 2008. He did not have with him but I was able to buy one emblem for my car. I still haven't put it on the car yet. Perhaps this winter it will find its way on car #32. It is a sharp heavy diecast emblem, retro look of the Yenko flag emblem. I did get one of the vinyle GMMG badges from Matt Murphy on my car cover, was placed on my car cover after I was waiting to meet him the first night In Indianapolis. The next morning I woke up and Matt M. had placed a version on my non GMMG Blackbird car cover and a note saying sorry he was late getting into town.

Good piece of info. I did not know that they only went on phase II cars and up! I got one for my Blackbird from Matt Murphy a few years ago. I guess I should not have put it on. :( But I do really like the way it looks.........

If you like the way it looks, leave it on the car. I doubt anyone is going to give you grief about such a minor detail.

Afterall, it's YOUR car!...... :)

I too have a diecast one on my Phase I; it wasn't on there initially. Matt was nice enough to sell it to me and place it on the car.

When Matt delivered my car to Berger, and he was there when Dennis Barker made a special presentation when I and one other Hot Rod car where delivered. He told me that mine was the First Car to get the GMMG cast emblem, he had just got them made.

Have one on my BB phase 1, Matt put it on free of charge when I visited Halloween 08' or 09'. Said he felt they all should have got them, but did not have them when they started production, so he put them on any car that came back to the shop.
