JD lost his battle with Liver Cancer last night
Thank you guys. He will be truly missed. I think one of the worst things is we didn't have much time for him to teach me on the things that are needed. So some will have to be winged and learn by experience, some will have to be taught by all of you.
He passed away Friday night (hard to still talk about it) at about 9pm. Pronounced at 9:30. Hamiltons funeral home (hamiltonsfuneralhome.com) will be taking care of services. Obit will be up this coming Sunday in the Des Moines register. I believe they have information up on their site already now. Memorial services will be held at 1pm, will have to confirm that, but im 99% sure sorry everything going on hard to remember it all. Any donations will go to John Stoddard cancer center here in Des Moines. We intend on bringing all 5 Camaro's to tribute him.
Any questions please feel free to email, text or post here and I will do my best to answer timely. Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for the info Dustin - I know it's not easy to speak right now. If you have any questions about the DE Intimidators feel free to contact me. I'am one of the few original owners still around. Weather permitting we do intend on bringing all 5 camaoros out. We are still finalizing a few things and still have much work her to do. Anyone that shows up I would say it would be very welcome to have some camaros out there. I think dad would love to see the showing. I know he will be there in spirit with us.

JD Condolences
Oct. 15, 2014 -- I returned home to many e-mails that should be shared. JD has so many great friends he & Nancy met over the years. There are many more & I’ll post them when I find them. Jim
This is sad news! My thoughts and prayers are sent out to his family and friends. I met JD when he attended the camaro Superfest here in Michigan with his Camaro club. -- Dave Ianitelli (slpdave)
I’m very sorry to hear that. Our thoughts and prayers will be with his family during this tough time. I know he was an ambassador for the GMMG hobby and a good friend to you. I was very sad to hear the news. -- Jason (wake00)
This makes me very sad, I am glad I had the opportunity to meet him and Nancy. I had the chance to talk to him about a month ago; he is going to be missed by all. What a GREAT man!! -- Tammy & Trigger Smith
This is so sad. -- Brandon Brown
Please give our sincere regrets and best wishes to JD's family. -- Gary and Georgia Walker (Cowboy)
Thank you for informing us. Our condolences to all his friends and family.

Thank you for the notice. Although I did not know JD as well as you I truly enjoyed talking with him and sharing info. He was a very nice man.
I am happy that he will not be suffering any longer.
Thank you,
Mark Tepsic - GA
Tell them our condolences. Sky Smith
Really sorry to hear that Jim. -- Nick Gristina - LA
Thank you for the note. Very sad news. -- Bob Beauregard (BB #30)
Sorry to hear ........... It seems like just yesterday that JD told me about his diagnosis and then the “there is no hope” news from his doctor. I know one of the things he really wanted to do was come down here and see my cars and also spend at day at Vengeance which is close by. Do Mike Carnahan and Ron know? Really shocking. Ray Bennett

Let's celebrate JD’s life & tell some stories................
If you had to explain JD in one word could you? Not me… words like intense, focused, and dedicated, friend, pal, educator & photographer come to mind.
Life for JD was very black & white with NO gray. You Always knew where you stood withJD.
If you questioned anything with JD you better bring your ‘A’ Game with lots of supporting documentation or he would blow more holes in it than a piece of Swiss Cheese.
I
Everyone learned from JD. He knew cars – especially GMMG Cars. JD forgot more than the rest of us would ever know. Just ask him! He just knew stuff!
The doctors found Mobil 1 Synthetic in his veins when they did the blood transfusion. They couldn't believe it so they did a second transfusion a week later & you guessed it – more Mobil 1.
When Nancy was around there was magic & a twinkle in JD’s eyes. She’s the only one I know of that could hold him down. When it came time to clean & detail a car for a car show she’d make JD lay down next to his dish so she could clean the car ‘the right way’! If Nancy & Aaron Thornton ever got together everyone’s car would be detailed.
What do you think he was thinking about when Nancy was cleaning the cars & he was watching her? A guess might be………. If she hurry’s up we’d have time to get something to eat!
JD made a difference. His countless hours with the GMMG Registry have helped so many GMMG owners. Every time we look at the metal signs, shirts, hats, clocks, license plates, windshield banners, window decals & everything else we will all think about & remember JD. His work is hung on garage walls everywhere.
If you are a pal of JD you had a friend forever.
JD has been a great pal & friend to all of us & will be missed.
JD: 'Drive fast until you see the face of GOD, then brake!'
We love you & will miss you.
