I find it very interesting when people go nuts & have to have a particular GMMG model.

EXAMPLE:

How may people say that they have to have a Blackbird? Two are for sale right now & no one is stepping up & buying them. Are they tire-kickers?

OR:

I have to find a Berger SS & then when they become available no one buys them.

What's up? If you're going to 'talk the talk' be prepared to 'walk the walk'!

I don't mind helping people but if you are a 'tire kicker' & not serious don't waste my time.

Money talks & BS walks.

How do you feel?

I AM WITH YOU JIM. I KNOW THAT YOU HAVE STEPPED UP TO HELP QUITE A FEW PEOPLE ONLY TO HAVE THEM BACK OUT OR DISAPPEAR. MY RED 35TH BB CAR WOULDN'T BE IN MY GARAGE WITHOUT YOUR HELP. I CAN TELL EVERYONE THAT WHEN I RAN MY E-BAY LISTING I HAD QUITE A FEW YOUNG GUYS THAT WERE INTERESTED BUT THE PRICE WAS TOO HIGH. JIM YOU SENT ME TWO LEADS FROM GUYS THAT CONTACTED YOU LOOKING FOR BLACKBIRDS. WHEN I TALKED TO THEM AND TOLD THEM THE PRICE THEY VANISHED. SO TO YOUR POINT AARON WHY HASN'T ANYBODY BOUGHT BB #28? MAYBE A LOT OF THESE PEOPLE HAVE THE DESIRE BUT NOT THE CASH.

People may be looking for something specific. When a lot of people find out that BlackBirds came in different colors that surprises them. They've already got a mental picture of a black car. Maybe those looking feel # 28 is worth the opening bid, but not the BIN and know it's sales history. Maybe people don't want to risk buying a car sight unseen in England and risk shipping it like PR-1 (I know what goes on with the way shipping containers are handled and I can tell you it ain't pretty).

I think it's great there are lots of tire kickers (Although I agree I wouldn't want my time wasted) because that means there's an interest still out there. It may not be the tire kicker that eventually buys your car, it may be his 14yr old kid that came with him who fell in love with the car and becomes financially successful at 24 who comes back to buy the car when you're too old to drive it. As far as a steal, why not if you can get it? I seem to remember getting a call from a collector guy in Wisconsin years ago who thought my parting price was too high when feeling me out as to what I valued my car at. I think he was looking for a deal/steal ;) . I was lucky and as far as I'm concerned, did get a deal from the used car lot, but the car was undocumented and there was risk my car was a clone, so I paid appropriately. I was also looking for a silver car and wound up with a black one.

I love it when people say "I gotta have one" and can't/don't get one. Because I got one. If everyone could grab one any time one came up for sale, how exclusive does that make them? I was either at the right place/right time, or because I'm lucky enough to have a job where I can own a "Toy" car, or because I've got a great wife who didn't nag me after I bought the car- even though she could care less about it. (I have several buddies that lost/sold or never even got cars due to wife nagging). I've got mine, best of luck to the guys that don't, don't give up the dream

A lot of walkers out there. I got calls from people as far as California on the Brickyard and they all want it for cheap. No way. I will drive it for a few years in the winter before I sell it cheap. Many wanted me to send copies of my documentation from GM. I have a 3" thick book of documentation I am not going to copy everything and spend $25 shipping the papers. Get on a plane and come out to look at it.

I know there was a lady selling it not too long ago because I contacted her about it. I believe Mario from Kings Cariot bought it from her and sold it. The person that is selling it now bought it from Mario I believe. I am sure if I am incorrect, someone can chime in. I believe all this has taken place over the past 1.5 - 2 years. Hope this helps some.

You are right Damien. This car was for sale by the original owner for quite a long time. She lived in Connecticut.
