1st Annual GMMG Owners Snowmobile Trip

I have a lodge/home near Jackson Hole, & Yellowstone in Wyoming. A few of us have talked about doing a snowmobile trip & with that thought in mind let’s make it happen.

http://www.westviewoncrookedcreekroad.com/

This is a trip everyone should consider at least once in their lifetime. If at least five want to go I can lock in the dates. We can sleep up to 14 with the bunkhouse, do some of our own cooking & eat out some.

Feb. 1 - 8 2014

What could we do?

Snowmobile a few days – I ride between 40 & 50 days every winter & know the area very well. Fantastic scenery & plenty of wildlife to see.

Jackson Hole – site see, ski @ Jackson, sleigh ride into the National Elk Refuge

Yellowstone - Snowmobile or snow coach into Old Faithful

Eat, drink, talk smart & & talk GMMG.

Costs?

Special discount for GMMG Forum members - $45/night plus 8% Wyoming lodging tax.

Snowmobile rentals are 2 doors away – about $170/day

How do I get there?

Drive (ride share?) or fly into Jackson Hole or Riverton & rent a car. Consider arriving about the same time & share a rental car?

I’m gauging interest…………

Let me know if you’d like to attend & your preferred dates. If at least five go then I can lock in the dates. A $150 deposit can come after we decide.

This trip should be on everyone’s ‘bucket-list’.

Please let me know. Jim Smith

Jim…………………….I’d be happy to add to this thread regarding your beautiful Wyoming vacation log home. :D

My wife and I had the privilege of staying in Jim Smith’s fabulous log home 7 miles west of Dubois, Wyoming June 30th through July 6th of this year.

Jim knocked some off of the weekly rental rate for us if we cleaned up the log home thoroughly before we left so he didn’t have to have a cleaning service come in to tidy up before the next rental came in. Thank you JIm ! ! ! ! ! :D

We found the home very clean and tidy upon our arrival with all of the conveniences of home including a plush leather furniture in the living room with a large flat screen T.V. hooked up to satellite (Direct T.V.) with surround sound, D.V.D., V.C.R., Stereo, wireless broadband internet, etc. His home even features a sauna. My wife thoroughly enjoyed staying there for the week and is hopeful that Jim will allow us to stay there again some day. :D

While we were in his log home…………….we had chipmunks, mule deer and the largest jack rabbit I’ve ever seen in my life visit us. :o There is also elk and moose in the general area. While we didn't see any elk or moose at the cabin..................we did see them in the area close to the cabin.

The nights are cool even in the summer as Jim’s log home is about half way up a mountain there.

It’s very quiet up there and if you walk to the edge of his property…………….you can literally see for miles. At the edge of his property is a trail and we observed people on horseback riding up the trail at least a couple of times while we were staying there.

In some of the photographs below……………….I took these pictures as we were straightening up and cleaning up prior to our departure. I failed to get any pictures of the kitchen because my wife was cleaning the kitchen as I was taking pictures and she wouldn't allow me to take any pictures while she was cleaning.......................so after she got done................I forgot to take any of the kitchen. Jim's home does have a modern kitchen obviously with a stove/oven, refridgerator, microwave, etc.
