WS6 Production

Hey guys, Im not quite sure if anyone here would know this, but I have a question regarding my 2002 WS6. The other day I had taken off each wheel to detail not only the rims but the inner wheel wells. As I got to the drivers side rear wheel well I discovered a type of 'tag' that was dated April 29, 2002 5:05 PM. I haven't had much luck of finding out what this was for or what it meant?

That was my first dilemma that snowballed into my quest to try and find out if there is a way to find out (maybe by running the vin) how close to the end of production my car was made? Meaning is there a way to tell if it was the last 100, 1000, etc? Let me know your thoughts.

The date your car was built should be on the door jamb sticker. The very last Trans Am went down the assembly line in Canada at 9:00 a.m on August 27th 2002. My guess is the "tag" you found with the date was simply the manufacturers inventory tag of whatever part it was attached to. You could try searching for your ASC conversion number also to see what that build date was.

Yes I'm going to have to start doing some research. I'm very curious to know how many came after it. I guess now it's a matter of waiting and seeing what comes of it. Thanks for the advice

I agree. We have similar tags we use on parts we supply. Ours usually include a serial number as well for tracking the process if there is a quality issue.
