I look forward to meet other GMMG car owners and people that share the interest in these specials cars. I have attached below a few photos of my car from the 2008 F-Body Bash at Indianapolis 500 speedway and also from the 2012 POCI Nats. I did decide to build a custom 1 of 1 1:18 diecast of my Blackbird car as well. Looking forward to meeting other GMMG ethusiasts.

A few BB #32 photos from the archives.......
I considered buying BB #32 when it was for sale a few years ago but the timing was not right. My loss is Matt's gain & he owns a great Blackbird.
I met Matt & his family on the Power Tour in Springfield. His kids were loving all the cars.
Matt loves his 3 red Trans Am's
@ POCI Convention with BB #6 & YOF#7
Matt even builds Model's

Thanks for the comments and posting the pictures. It was nice meeting you and seeing your phase 2 Camaro at Springfield. I never did get a change to talk to the guy in the SOM Blackbird that I saw driving around Springfield when we drove in. My girls do enjoy the cars and going to car shows. I think they will continue the legacy I have created with our family.
Jim - What happen with your silver Blackbird that you owned. Am I correct that you now only own one Blackbird - the Bobby LaBonte edition car #38?

I love the 1/18th model of the Blackbird. Could you tell me where you got it? What company made it? I've been searching for awhile but haven't had any luck

The 1:18 diecast GMMG Blackbird model is a one off creation I did for my real GMMG Blackbird car. I had to take two 1:18 scale diecast cars to create this model. The main car I used was a 1:18 Yatming Trans Am convertible. I then used a jewelry saw to remove the trunk portion and then took a 1:18 scale Ertl '96 Trans Am and removed the back hatch back section also with a jewelry saw to carefully cut and then attach to the convertible diecast then the rest was done like a real car, small welds and then blend in the two parts for a smooth transition.
I am a big collector of Trans An diecast cars and had never seen a 1:18 '98 -'02 Trans Am diecast car so I decided it was time to create one on my own. I can send you some more pictures I did throughout this process and a couple from the last POCI (Pontiac Oakland Club Interntational car show where I entered this model in the model contest. The paint and finish turned out well that many thought this was a store purchased diecast, not until the in process photos were shown that that they realize the work put into this model. It took a fair amount of time but was really pleased with the outcome then I had to add, 1:18 GMP Torque Thrust II wheels/rims and prep, paint and add GMMG hood stripes and lower rear painted bumper panel along with the car number on the windshield and rear view mirror.
I could only imagine if one of the big diecast company's would ever build a few GMMG cars. I am in process of creating a GMMG Camaro, perhaps 35th anniversary edition.
I am determining if I get any interests of other cars to build? Send me a reply in your thoughts.
Best Regards,
Matt Phillips

Yes I have seen the 1:24 Earnhardt Pontiac IROC Trans Am cars. I wasn't certain about the back section since it has the race wing but would be less work than what I had to do with the two 1:18 scale Trans Am diecast bodies. I may have to give one a try if I pick up a donor car relatively inexpensive. Thanks for idea.
I wanted to clarify on statement in my previous note. "I am a big collector of Trans An diecast cars and had never seen a 1:18 '98 -'02 Trans Am diecast car..." I intended to say that I have never seen a 1:18 '98-'02 T-top or hardtop diecast car. Obviously they make the Welly's and Yatming 1:18 diecast Trans Am in the 30th anniversary, Collector Edition, Bright Red and in Sunset Orange Metallic paint schemes. Even those cars are getting harder to find now.
