Hmmmm.......
According to The White book, and I quote, "RPO B4C was police option for Z28. Included Goodyear P245/50ZR16tires, power steering cooler, body color roof, and 1LE rear control arms. Z28 emblems deleted. For 2001, 279 were automatic, 9 were six-speed".
Some observations I have made:
1. All 01 Intimidators are six-speed.
2. I have all the original documents for my # 38 Intimidator including the Vehicle Build Sheets. RPO B4C is no where to be found.
3. The White Book is regarded to be pretty accurate in the Camaro World but a few minor mistakes have been noted with some early printings.
In your defense J.D., I too have seen some where in print (don't remember where) that ALL 01 Intimidators began life with B4C. Something, Someone is screwed-up Somewhere.......
Will the most knowledgeable 01 Intimidator person please step foreward and clear this matter up? I'am more then confused........
Hey Craig,
Far from the most knowledgable, but can offer my .02 as i did have this conversation with Matt years ago.As you are well aware, the whole Intimidator program was clouded in darkness from the start. Matt had to scramble to find cars, and with the help of Missy Brewster was able to get them through GM bailment pool. As far as i'm aware, none of them had RPO B4C. It was a "delete" package and not available with ASR or TTops. GM built 288 B4C Camaros for 2001 MY,279 were autos, nine were built with M6. Out of those nine three were 41U Onyx Black. At the time it was all he could do to fill orders.
Hey Mark, Glad you stopped in...... :handgestures-thumbup: ...Stick around and post often - your knowledge is very welcome.
What you said is true to my understanding as well. According to Ms Mitsy Brewster, Dale wanted the Intimidator program to be flawless and 'right on time' for potential buyers. Early in 2001, Matt told me it was his DREAM to work with Dale and he was going to do everything he could to 'make it happen'.
I should have said I wonder what happened to the factory B4C parts removed from ANY of the eventual GMMG cars, i.e. Zl1, Blackbirds, Tom Henrys, Bergers, etc. And I'am still wondering ...
BTW, Mitsy retired from Earnhardt Chevy five years ago and unknown to me in 2001, she was previously a regional GM 'Trouble-Shooter' for the southeast region. Plus, she and Dale had Great Respect for each other.....
