The suspension in my car creaks at times and may be looking into new shocks and springs. I know these cars came with an Eibach kit, does anyone know if it was an off the shelf kit or specifically tuned for GMMG? If it is off the shelf, does anyone know what the part numbers are? Thanks in advance for your help.

Damien..........................they were Eibach springs specially made for GMMG and carried their own GMMG part number.

Matt used to sell me the springs and when I owned an automotive shop. We lowered many Camaros at my shop with these springs that I purchased from Matt. :D

Thanks for chiming in JD. Can the springs still be bought today? What shocks were used? Were they eibach as well, if not, what kind?

Damien...........................as far as the springs.......................I doubt that they can be purchased. You would have to check with Eibach but since GMMG is out of business..................I highly doubt that Eibach would still manufacture them.

As far as the shocks, I'm sure that they are just the standard shocks that came on the WS6 when it was new.

When I lowered my '97 SS Camaro with a set of these springs, I used the shocks that came on the car.

Damien........................if you're going to replace the shocks, I'd suggest that you go with Koni adjustables.

As far as the springs Aaron...............................these are the springs that Matt told me he used on all of the GMMG cars. Maybe some of the earlier builds has a different spring but I know that when I took delivery of my ZL-1 in May of 2003 and started buying these springs from Matt, he told me that this was the springs that he was using on everything that GMMG built.

As far as the springs go, the part number is for the LT1 cars. Eibach still sells this exact part number. I am going to take the bird over to my local performance shop to get it on the lift and have a look at bushings, pan hard bar, etc. before I go buying a new suspension. If I end up getting shocks, I will most likely go with the SLP Bilstein package. I had this set up on my 01 Firehawk and the performance/drivability factor is great. I will keep you posted with any new information I find. I will probably call Eibach tomorrow and confirm the current part number would be the same as the GMMG one.

I do not think my springs were changed, my convertible has Eibach convertible spring #'s on them. What I'm trying to say is my convertible rear Springs have a stock eibach number, not a gmmg number. It's possible they were changed or maybe because there were so few convertibles, they used the regular production set.

so opinion i can get stock ws6 shocks or go aftermarket with some konis. which would be a better choice as far as value and performance goes.
