GREAT JOB Jim, J.D., Jim & Dave for putting this forum together.

My name is Dennis Barker and I am very proud and honored to be asked to join this forum. I worked for Berger Chevrolet for 15 years and was VERY LUCKY to LIVE MY DREAM of working at Berger Chevrolet and having a part in working hand in hand with Matt Murphy and Matt Berger in making GMMG a reality. GMMG was the coming of the "MODERN MUSCLECAR " ERA. To see the vision Matt Murphy had and to see it become a reality was truly remarkable. The GMMG built cars have a stance and personality ALL THEIR OWN!! AND ALSO A GROWL ALL THEIR OWN!! I am very proud to have been a part of seeing these cars come to life and it puts a smile on my face every time I see one of these GMMG cars or hear another story about them.

I am now employed at Todd Wenzel Chevrolet in Hudsonville, MI. and also I am the Hi-Performance Director at NicKey Chicago where we build 5th Generation Camaro Supercars. Our motto is just like back in the day "From Mild to Wild". I do still have on my NicKey business cards "When Fast Just isn't Fast Enough" as I will probably have that on my gravestone also!!

I do not still own a GMMG car but do have a 600 HP Naturally Aspirated Stage II NicKey Super Camaro that has been known to do a SMOKE SHOW or two when requested!! I really look forward to particpating heavily on this forum and enjoyong every minute of it!

Thank you again to the "When Fast Just Isn't Fast Enough" TEAM for putting this site together!!

Welcome. Dennis is Mr. Fun! Yea - Dennis loves to do burnouts.

CO-99

There will be a lot of stories about Dennis & I'll start. At one time Dennis owned my Berger SS #45. I hope this wasn't his test car. I was told a little old man drove it to church. We visited & emailed a fair amount but never met until the 2009 Power Tour was in Racine, WI. I was in front of my pal Tom in his TA as we drove along the lake where the vendors were parked. We drove by the Nickey display where the new 5th Gen. yellow SS was on display. That new yellow Nickey caught me eye. As we proceeded on I saw this guy running behind me hollering 'Tom - Tom - Tom'. I thought he was after my pal Tom but he kept running & running (Kind of like Forrest Gump) . After a block or so Dennis finally caught may car - was totally out of breath - needed oxygen - stuck his head in my car & said 'Tom'. I said no, Tom is behind me. He said I used to own this car - I'm Dennis Barker. I pulled over & we had a great visit & I finally met 'Mr. Burnout'.

Dennis it's great to have you join us. I know you will have plenty of stories to share. Jim

If you see any GMMG Camaro doing a burnout it could be one of these three - Dennis, John Smith (SS #12) or Jeff Gassen (HRE #2000)

'Drive as fast as you can till you see the face of GOD, then brake!'

John has been known to shred a set of tires in a couple of minutes after the Berger Car Shows.........

'Fear and death are real motivators. Get it right the first time!'

Not to be out done is Jeff Gassen (HRE #2000).............Jeff & I have become great friends. He owns a Body Shop in Stoughton, Wi & made my NBM Berger SS #76 shine. Aaron BB #34 is also a satisfied customer.

Jeff has a 24/7 escort to keep him out of trouble. Jeff - POST UP!

'Sorry to interupt you're busy day officer just for a warning!'

'Don't let anything but fear & common sense hold you back!'

Do you know how fast a GMMG is going @ 4,000 rpm in 5th gear? I do. You know who you are - please post the link.

How about someone starting a Burn-Out' thread in Off Topic. I'd do it but I'm leaving for some early season snowmobiling at our Rental Lodge in Wyoming near Yellowstone & Jackson Hole. Think about coming out & riding with me sometime. I've been known to get a little air - It's too cold to do burn outs.

Click on the Registry - look around & you will find many GMMG's in smoke. Click on the links & turn up the sound.

Welcome Dennis ! It was a fun time back when you sold me my Brickyard 400. I got a chance to drive several GMMG cars from Berger even the 2002 Berger SS prototype on the Michigan stop of the Hot Rod Power Tour. Those were fun days for sure! :)
