Buyer beware..........

Over the last few years I've found out that someone was claiming to own a GMMG & tried to sell it.

This even happened to me on 3 or 4 cars. I had one person to claim to have one of my cars. There were more than a dozen posts all over including Canada. WHAT! The cars were in my garage!

Often times there was a super low price & they insist that you send them a deposit & many have tried this scam on E-Bay.

If you find this happening I'd suggest reporting in in the Forum, contact the bogus seller, report them to the listing web site administrator & attempt to get info, phone #'s & info.

I've used a couple of tricks back at them....... My intent it to make their life miserable for trying to scam everyone. How dare they try this on me?

I tell them I will be in town in a couple of days & want to stop over to see the car. They will always have an excuse like they are going to be on vacation or something.

One guy just wouldn't stop & I asked him to look out his window right away & tell me what he sees. He replied that he saw nothing. Then I tell him law enforcement is on the way, he is under surveillance & he will be arrested & prosecuted. It stopped right then & there. I'm sure he looked out his window a lot for awhile. Get in their face & make them stop.

My point is this..... Buyer beware & don't let these scammers pull this stuff. The GMMG Registry has saved many potential buyers from loosing money or buying a 'fake' GMMG. If the seller isn't willing to give you full disclosure be careful. If something doesn't feel just right do you homework so you know what you are getting into. If I have a car # & door tag # I can confirm the car as being the 'real-deal' GMMG. This is just one of the services I've provided over the years on my dime.

The most recent was DEI #74 that was for sale on E-Bay. I'd been talking to the owners son a lot about the car. A week or so later I saw a post that I thought was bogus. I kept checking into it, talked to the owners son a few more times to reconfirm the car was still with his dad in CA & got pretty nasty with the scammer in e-mails I sent him off the E-Bay listing - Ask a question. I never could get a phone & or name & he always replied from the E-Bay posting with no e-mail. The seller & I both reported him to E-Bay & he was banned.

Please post any questionable GMMG cars.............

I have gotten calls on my Berger Brickyard 400 where these idiots want me to scan and send them all of my documentation I have from GM before they come out and look at it. No way will I scan and send them over 3" thick GM documentation I have. If someone wants to come out and look at my car I may then will show them the documentation. Heck if someone really low balls my asking price they won't get any extras witrh the car or any documentation. I would rather drive the car in the winter without ever washing it before I give a one of 45 cars ever built away.
