Yes, I know this car, drove it many years ago when it was for sale. The only reason I didn't buy it was because the motor was not done by GMMG.
Here's the story.................. Great 35th Anniversary BB --- just not a GMMG motor upgrade.................. Jim Smith
I sent this to Scott yesterday & have not heard anything back........
Hi Scott:
I’m curious to know why are you listing the car for Luke as a friend? Are you a broker? He has a great collection. Is he selling other cars?
I know Luke & know this car. I saw & drove it years before Luke bought it & remember the auction where he bought it.
The intent if the GMMG Registry is to provide accurate information about any GMMG’s. We attempt to protect the buyer & seller. The last thing we want is a new GMMG buyer coming to us after having bought a GMMG & we have to set him straight on what he really bought. Full disclosure on the front end solves most of these issues. We will get calls from anyone doing their ‘due-diligence’ on the car & will provide them with accurate information on the car as we know it.
There a few things in your listing that are incorrect, could be misleading & as an Administrator of the GMMG Registry/Forum (along with Jim Simon @ Aaron Thornton) I need to bring this to your attention. All of us own & have owned Blackbird’s. We have the GMMG Records & build information.
Please don’t get me wrong. This is a great & rare GMMG but not quite as the listing states.
Corrections that need to be made to the listing.......
Approx. 112 total Blackbird’s were built.
50 Blackbird’s were built (2000, 2001, 2002)
In addition 19 - 35th Anniversary Blackbird’s were built. I owned the last one #19. This is #12 of 19. So really it is more rare – 1 of only 19.
7 Year One Formula’s, 10 Year One BB’s& 10 CETA yellow BB’s plus a few prototypes for a total of about 112 cars.
The GMMG Phase I 380 hp cars were never 380 hp at the wheels............ 380 hp @ the motor............ We have dyno info on these cars. (see next thread for more info)
The engine upgrade was not done by GMMG. The previous owner had someone in MN build the motor for him so it’s not a GMMG Phase II & shouldn’t be advertised as a Phase II. It’s a great motor ( I drove it), just not a GMMG Phase II motor. This may not be a big issue to many but if someone is looking for a ‘true / real-deal’ 100% GMMG Car & they think this car is one they will be disappointed The non GMMG motor was the only reason I didn’t buy the car years ago (before Luke) when it was for sale & that’s the only reason I don’t have interest at this time. If it had a GMMG motor it would have been in my garage years ago.
Luke could list the car for sale on the GMMG Registry @ N/C. He could even list his non GMMG’s. If we help sell it or find a buyer all we ask is 1/2 of 1% after it sells to help support the ongoing Registry costs. We know where most of the GMMG’s are that are for sale & are asked all the time to help find a specific car. We might be able to help?

You can contact Aaron Thornton, Jim Smith or Jim Simon for corrections & assistance.
Thanks, good luck with the sale, say hi to Luke for me & let us know if we can assist. Happy holidays.
Jim Smith
I have photos of this car @ GMMG & a fair amount of info on it. It's white with blue stripe.
