Posting until the owner gets online. We welcome BB #30. Jim
.
This is a sweet BB. I'm sure the owner will post the history to get the car where it is today.

My pal Capt. Bob….

I spend a week in his car on the Hot Rod Power Tour a few years ago. The year I blew up the Hot Rod Car @ Charlotte.

…….from Jim ---- remember the Captain Phillip’s movie with Tom Hanks?

Bob………….

Formerly served as master of containerships in the Persian Gulf and East Africa regions. A highlight of my career has been Captaining the MAERSK ALABAMA in 2009 after my co-worker Captain Phillips' harrowing ordeal.

Just passed the 100,000 mile mark. Still running strong. I'd like to put fresh shocks on. Can anyone tell me what the originals were?

Hi Jim , thank you for responding back to me , I am just amazed you not only know the guy that has my Blackbird , but actually spent a week in the car with him , that is just really awesome , I moved last year and can't find all my pictures and my GMMG Build sheet that I had Laminated , I have it just don't know what box all that stuff is in , but the one picture I really wish I could find is my 2 year old, red hair son sitting in the driver seat with his little hand on the Shifter knob with the top down , I've had that specific picture on my fridge for 18 years till I moved , and my son is 20 now , he loved riding with me with the top down in the car . my stepson was 16 back then when me & my wife went to dinner one night our 16 year old decided to sneak the Blackbird out with his brother and sister while we gone , there was 3 90 degree turns to get out of our neighborhood. so he never made it out of the neighborhood bc he hit the gas at the 1st turn , the car completely spun around and scared the crap out of him so bad he went straight back home and his sister told when me & mom got home 🤣🤣 , I have so many memories with my kids when they were young in that car , my neighbors hated that car so much they litterally called the cops on me so many times saying i was speeding thru the neighborhood bc it was so loud , so the cops would come sit around the curve and hit me with Radar but i never went over 25 mph , i would leave the car in 1st so it was screaming loud just to piss off the neighbors bc they called the cops , eventually the cops gave up bc i was doing nothing wrong, me & my wife , ex wife now , drove it to my Dad's house in Ft Lauderdale for my best friend wedding , got a speeding ticket from an Airplane Cop on the Fla Turnpike on that trip . Took it to SEMA in Vegas bc one of my childhood best friends invented and patented the LED Underglow Light Sticks and put them on the Blackbird at SEMA , just tons of great memories . my son was born Aug 2002 and i bought the Blackbird when he was about 1 , then I got divorced in 2004 and in 2005 fought for Custody of my son and had to pay my lawyer so I had absolutely no other option but to let the Blackbird go so I could get Custody of my son , I have to find that picture of my 2 year old son in the driver seat, top down ,little hand on the Shifter with his red hair glowing in the sun and the biggest smile on his face , it was a really sad day when the Blackbird was gone but also worth it at the time bc I got my son , and no car worth not having my kid , but I've missed that car every day since , and I still live 10 min from the Carl Black Dealership .
