That's my car! It was actually delivered with Fikse FM 10s....like the 5 but with 10 spokes. I have pictures of it with those wheels on it from the day I picked it up at Matt's place. In fact, I have a lot of old unique pictures. It has to be easy to post pictures here, like LS1 Tech, or I'll be clueless. BTW - the tires on those rims are 285/40X17 Michelin MXX3s imported from Germany. These are the type of tire that BMW put on the original M3s to make them a virtually track ready. Problem was average wear was no more than 5K. BMW and Michelin ate a lot of those tires.

#51 was delivered as a Phase I with the intention of having an original 1969 ZL-1 owner convert it to a C5R 427. For reasons unknown this iteration never ran. It was then converted to a SC 427. This one ran...for a little while (50 miles) and then blew out a freeze plug one of the heads. Running hot was just one of its many problems and it eventually ended up at Vengeance Racing. Matt suggested going back with the original LS6 and make it a hot Phase II+. So that's what Mike Carnahan did and that's the way it sits today.

Most of the 1,600 miles put on the beast were accumulated on various dynos with various enging configurations. Probably one of the few ZL-1s that has never even had the tires smoked! Maybe when Monsoon season ends.
