Hi All. What's the real mod status on this one? GMMG shows it as a 2x6 500hp. Mecum ad has it as a 2x6R? Thanks, Mark

Mecum has it as a '427'motor & it is not.
I've e-mailed them every auction that they have it wrong & they do nothing about it. How would you feel if you bought the car & found out it DID NOT have a '427'?

The Registry has the car as a Phase 2X6R - see stampings on heads. If anyone has any paperwork that says it's a '427' I'd like to see it.
I've e-mailed the previous owner & will post when I hear back. Jim Smith
Nice car - just not a '427'

Huuummmm... More head scratching here. Just looked again at GMMG registry website data base, it shows #52 as a 2x6 500hp. All the pictures on year 2001 page showing #52 as 2x6 500hp. Plus there's 500hp on hood. Can't read data on heads in that picture. Where are you seeing it's an 2x6R. Different picture of heads? Somebody must have the straight story. Mike and Ron at Vengeance? Thanks, Mark

525 rwhp, not possible with that package. I think hat they should have said that it is figured at the crank. That then is something I can believe.

I keep e-mailing Mecum & I guess they don't care that their info in not correct. Maybe others need to also e-mail Mecum?
It makes me question Mecum's credibility & business ethics.
THIS IS NOT A '427' - unless someone comes forward with documentation that says it is.
Buyer beware!

Clints Berger #56 car is also going to auction this weekend.Sept 19th. Phase 2x6R as well. This was the car J.D. would have bought. Clint told me his dyno sheet says 540 hp. I believe this is to the flywheel. I will text him when the auction is over to find out if it sold and if so for how much.
