1 of 4 ‘real’ 2000 Daytona 500 GTP Pace Cars

1 of only 2 'real' Festival Pace Cars --- #0045 - 3 of 4 in Jim's Collection

I guess it's time to consider splitting up the Pace Cars.

Why is this a significant Pace Car?

2000 was the very first race of the New Millennium.

This was the last year Dale Earnhardt finished the Daytona 500. Dale died in 2001 on a last lap crash.

Fun video @ Daytona with Dale Earnhardt & Terry Bradshaw just days before Dale died.......... [youtube:ivqoees7][/youtube:ivqoees7]

Look at the very last frame - my Pace Car on the scene...........

Three of the four 'REAL' Pace Cars from 2000 Speed Weeks are now in 'The Jim Smith Collection'. It’s time to separate the collection.

I was fortunate to purchase the Lead Camera Car #0031 with 2,512 miles

The ONLY TWO CORRECT 2000 Daytona Festival Pace Cars in the entire world!

The REAL Deal! #0045 & #0058 are Festival Cars

#0045 has 19,468 original & unrestored miles – perfect in every way.

Supercharged 3800 Grand Prix GTP – 240 hp - automatic

Was on the 2007 Hot Rod Power Tour & attended many shows.

Amazing documentation – has been in numerous publications

Photos from 2000 Speed Weeks in Daytona

Car is always in a climate controlled showroom with other cars in the collection.

#0045 was invited to be the Pace Car for Brainerd International Raceway’s 40th Anniversary celebration. Bobby Unser was to drive the car but got weathered out so I had to drive it for the weekend. Oh darn! Too much fun!

3 of 30 1998 GTX Pace Car Replica's with 2 of 4 'real' 2000 Daytona 500 Pace Cars.... (Had 5 at one time)

Here's the deal..........

#0045 is 1 of only 2 Festival Cars & can never be replaced.

REDUCED........... $30k. NOW $25K Please don't waste my time if you are a 'tire-kicker'.

I really feel the value of the cars is much higher if they stay together. After all they are 3 of 4 'real' 2000 Daytona 500 Pace Cars & my pal George has the 4th car.

Your Grand Prix Pac Car has a nice history. My Brickyard 400 is a one of one with it's history. I too have a very full 3" thick book showing it's history and documentation. Good luck with the sale. :)
