I'm not sure where I got these two ads back in 2002.
Perhaps they came out of Year One catalogs or one of the Pontiac magazines.
The reverse side of both are also ads for Year One. I noticed a couple of differences between the two ads.
The red one calls the car a "2002 Year One Formula 350" while the black one calls it the "2002 Year One Edition Formula."
The red one has a price starting at $35,580 and the black one starts at $36,980.
The price increase might be because the black one mentions "Cat-back chambered exhaust" while the red one does not.
The red one states that it is "available in eight exterior colors" but the black one mentions that it is "available in five exterior colors."
How many of these were actually produced?
It states that they were to be "limited to less than 50 vehicles."

from Jim Smith........

Only 7 YOF's were built plus 2 protypes PR1 & PR2 for a total of 9.

YOF #7 (SOM) being the last one.

The first GMMG I ever saw & drove was YOF #5 near Tampa when the original owner had it for sale.

I had no clue what I was looking at.

How can a base Formula with cloth be worth the big money.

I started researching GMMG & the rest is history owning close to 30 GMMG's & have 7 in the collection today.

Year One 2002 Power Tour

Thanks for sharing.

2002 Carl Black / Year One Edition Formula and 2002 Carl Black /

Year One Edition Black Bird on the 2002 Hot Rod Power Tour (May 24-30, 2002)

Here are some photos showing the red 2002 Carl Black / Year One Edition Formula and the silver 2002 Carl Black / Year One Edition Black Bird participating in the 2002 Hot Rod Power Tour.

I found these images on the Year One website circa 2002 via the Wayback Machine.
https://web.archive.org/.../tou.../2002 ... ocars.html

Referring to the Formula, the website stated back in 2002:

"Owner: Year One, Inc.
Engine: 2002 LS1 with 380 hp upgrade
Trans: Tremec T56 6-speed

What’s Cool About It: Carl Black Pontiac and Year One got together to build a maximum of 50 WS6-enhanced Formulas for 2002. The WS6 option, which includes among other things the cool Ram Air system and specific suspension tuning, hasn’t been available on the Formula since 1999. By building these special cars, Carl Black and Year One are once again positioning the Formula model as the “hot rod” of the Firebird line. Additionally, this particular car has the 380 horsepower engine upgrade, optional on all the Year One Edition Formulas."
Referring to the Black Bird, the website stated back in 2002:
"Owner: Year One, Inc.
Engine: 2002 LS1 with 380 hp upgrade
Trans: Tremec T56 6-speed
Rear axle: GM 10-bolt, 3.73:1 gears

What’s Cool About It: One of only six Year One Edition Black Birds built, this silver F-car is fun and exclusive.

Late-model F-body fans are probably already familiar with the Black Birds, a line of specially prepared Trans Ams offered by Carl Black Pontiac. Year One and Carl Black teamed up to offer a few limited Year One Edition cars, and this is one of ‘em."
