Hi there. My name is Slavko, I recently purchased the infamous "wrecked" number 40 BlackBird. Just to clarify things, it wasn't wrecked haha, it was driven and I guess scratched up a lot and no body parts were changed on the vehicle all is original with the exception of the paint. I'm sure you guys all know this already. I've inspected the car so much and underneath the car is completely clean and no signs of frame damage at all (My father is very good friends with a owner of a dealer popular collision center). In all the car is very clean, the paint job is in great condition, I'm not too crazy about it, but I couldn't let the opportunity pass me for owning an amazing vehicle like the Black Bird Trans Am. I've always dreamed about owning a muscle car from this era. My dream car was an '03 Cobra, but as time went so did this expensive dream. The dream however resurfaced when I started watching videos of Trans Am's on youtube. My initial plan was to buy a regular WS6. I was so close to buying a roller and slapping it together with an lq9 engine, but was stirred away when I saw this gem 250 miles away from me. At first I didn't know the car was a blackbird, I just thought it was modded. I didn't really take notice of it until I started reading more about Trans Ams, I wanted to know every fault in the car I wanted to make a street beast. Looking for these faults I came across a forum that spoke about some kind of Blackbird. I was sure I saw this term somewhere before. Going back to the vehicles AD i saw that it was one. I knew right away this is a collectors car and I will have to own it. I know that the car was painted and that does effect the value of it, but the carfax of the vehicle is crystal clear and phenominal. I spoke to all previous owners about it and they were polite enough to provide me with all the information about the car. Jim Smith or as you might know him as "daytonajim" also helped me a lot on the finding this information. I am pleased to finally say I own a 1 of 50 vehicle. I own a Trans AM. I OWN A BLACK BIRD HOORAH!! Well, I shouldn't be so excited, I live in Illinois and winter finally came. The 250 miles or six hour drive (one direction) of driving from S.Eastern Indiana finally ended and allowed me to wash the car completely (undercarrage as well [no salt please :snooty: ]) and wax it. Hopefully it will be my garage queen like my former beast, my still beloved and completely restored, Yugo GVX. One of my biggest regrets was selling her. The Blackbird will now take its place and sit in my garage, get started regularly, and taken care of like the car should be. I can't wait for this blizzard to pass and the streets to dry up, I'm going to have to drive it! I love it! Thank- you for allowing me to become a member of this awesome group. I am honored. I know my car isn't as great as all of yours, but in time I hope to earn your respect and have my black bird earn its place back. Oh btw anyone have good ideas for custom plates? My car is missing some pieces and over time ill need your guys' help in retrieving them. Im missing my rear badge, fender badges, bumper badge, and black bird floor mats, the stock radio is also gone, i'm eventually going to change that back, its the same as a regular Trans ams correct? Hopefully there not as expensive as the car
Let me put an end to my rambling and post a few pictures for you guys:
The Challenger is my sisters car and no shes too young for you all :naughty:

Slavko...............................CONGRATULATIONS on your purchase of a GMMG BlackBird and WELCOME to the GMMG Registry Forum Board. We have a couple of guys here, GMMG Blackbird (Jim) and Blackbird34 (Aaron), that are pretty knowledgeable on the BlackBirds and I'm sure that they can answer your questions and maybe help you "fill in the blanks".
You should talk to GMMG Blackbird (Jim) as he has had the BlackBird floor mats re-created before and "possibly" he could help you get this accomplished again.
Unfortunately...................you more than likely won't be able to acquire any "BlackBird" hood or fender badges. We recently had those "re-created" but they were all sold and we don't plan on having any more "re-created".
