I recently talked to Steve Gelnett who is currently the new car sales manager at Earnhardt Chevrolet in Newton, NC. I asked him the subject question and he infomed me that.........................................................
Dale's remains are in a marble mausoleum on the three square mile family farm located in Mooresville, NC.
Only a hand-full of family members and a few close friends (Richard Chlldress) know exactly where the tomb is.
yep, i am 5 minutes from earnhardt chevy, cool dealership.. i have seen numerous intimadator camaros, in showroom & local car shows.. there are 2 i know of, original owners still here in newton...
yes, seen a couple at the dealership, never driver one, at over $60.000 i doubt i ever will.. pictures & videos all over internet & you tube... cool car !!!
Actually $60K is a bargain for a 501 cu. in. Super Charged Camaro. They are 'Bad To The Bone' in my eyes.....
Steve Gelnett gave me the inside info on them last time I talked with him. Currently, Earnhardt Chevy is only building them 'on demand' and had to turn down a request from a customer in Canada. Seems USA GM dealers can't sell there due to various trade agreements, union rules, etc. Go figure......
Actually Craig.........................Steve told me yesterday on the telephone that they DID build one for the guy in Canada but they built is off of a USED Camaro so that they could send it to him in Canada
