GMMG Book???

The topic of writing a GMMG book keeps coming up. This is a great idea but would be a huge undertaking.

Would we be able to sell it & @ what price?

What would you pay?

How many pages & format? Plenty of photos & stories.

Topics – sections??? Send a list.

We already have a lot of the information on the Registry & Forum & would need to organize it & rewrite.

Would anyone want to take the lead on this? I can rough up ideas BUT am not a writer.

We will need contributing writers, permission from owners & owners submitting photos & stories about their car.

Who could possibly assist? Sky Smith has written a number of books.

Publisher? Motorbooks is close to me & they are the largest publisher of automotive books. Maybe check with them?

I’ll start (no particular order) – add to the list

GMMG History

How did GMMG get started?

Stories from..........

Dennis Barker & Scott Settlemiere

Matt Berger

Dick Jacques

Matt Murphy (we need to find Matt)

Valarie Harrell

Carl Black Pontiac

On the Supercar dealers' list, in addition to the Carl Black story, add histories of:

Tom Henry Chevrolet/Racing

Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet

Berger Chevrolet

Year One?

Others?

Matt Murphy

Before GMMG – history - SLP

Matt Murphy – GMMG

Matt Murphy stories – we all have them

Mike Carnahan & Ron Moen

GMMG Registry & Forum history?

The Cars (every model, build info, colors & all that) – White Book info

If a couple of people did a couple of models this would be great.

Would you be willing to assist?

BB’s – Jim & Aaron?

ZL1, TH, DH – JD?

DEI – Jim Smith, JD & Craig Schenk?

SS, HRE, PE, Wildcards – Jim Smith, Brandon Brown?

GMMG Iconic cars (come up with the top 10 or 15?)

GMMG Wildcards

GMMG specials (NASCAR, celebrity & special builds)

Driven GMMG’s – the highest mileage GMMG’s – (PE7, CO99, BB3, BB30 & more)

GMMG Collections (Trigger, Andy, Gary) – where do we start?

2 or more? 4 or more? 8 or more? What’s the number?

Other topics………… add to the list

Your thoughts & input?

I'am thinking a format similar to the white book with a narrative about each model and year in paperback to keep the cost down. Like J. Smith, I'am no writer but can provide info about the Intimidators as they were sold, who was who at Dale Earnhardt Chevrolet etc. I can provide photos from 2001 as well.

Happy Fourth To All .. :flags-usa:

Further, Jerry Macneish, a leading expert on 1967-69 Camaros uses Motorbooks International Publishers & Wholesalers for his line of books. I'am sure they have a website........

Found it: http://motorbooks.com

There doesn't seem to be a lot of interest in a GMMG Book so I won't spend my time doing one at this time.

I've asked for stories & feedback & haven't heard much back.

I am very interested. Not sure what credible information I would have to offer for the content of the book. I know I can easily pay $50+ for a hardcover...... if that is any indication of what the market would tolerate.

Would this be a good contribution to someone who has a proven track record in documenting and writing an overall Camaro book? (i.e. Jerry M)
